Music will take center stage at St. John’s Episcopal Church this October as the parish welcomes the community to two special performances featuring classical music, cabaret entertainment, and an opportunity to support the church’s ongoing mission and ministries.
The musical celebrations begin on Sunday, October 18, at 3:00 p.m., with For the Love of Bach, an afternoon of classical music presented by the St. John’s Players and Chamber Soloists.
The concert will feature cellist Garfield Moore, joined by pianist Jonathan Mitchell, the St. John’s Chorale, Mary Chaffe Brooks, and soprano Kate Sawyer. Together, these talented musicians will offer an afternoon celebrating the beauty and timeless appeal of the music of Johann Sebastian Bach.
General admission tickets are $25, with tickets for children available for $10. Proceeds from the concert will benefit St. John’s Mission and Ministries, supporting the parish’s continued service to the community.
The celebration continues on Friday, October 23, when St. John’s Parish Hall takes on a different musical atmosphere for Lisa Greenberg Cabaret Night.
Guests are invited to enjoy an evening of music and entertainment featuring Lisa Greenberg. The festivities begin at 6:15 p.m. with cocktails and heavy hors d’oeuvres, followed by the show at 7:00 p.m.
Tickets are $40 per person, with proceeds benefiting St. John’s music program, helping sustain and enrich the musical offerings that are an important part of parish life.
While each event offers a distinct musical experience, both reflect St. John’s commitment to bringing people together through music, fellowship, and community engagement.
St. John’s Episcopal Church warmly invites parishioners, friends, neighbors, and music lovers throughout the Mississippi Gulf Coast to join us for one or both of these special October performances.
